NYIG was founded in 2016. We are a group of professionals out of 1,000 in the world supported by the American Go Association and Chinese Weiqi Association. Our goal is to communicate and prolong Go spirit and Go philosophy. At NYIG, classes for students of all ages are offered. Individual and team tournaments are held seasonally and annually.
Group Lessons (Little Neck Location)
All Expert-Classes are exclusively for students 1-kyu or higher. Students may attend a higher level class with approval by the instructor.
Competition Class (14 kyu and up): Limited to 8 students, 2.5 hours per class, and 2 classes per week. This class is aimed at students who seek to accelerate their rate of improvement, become an experienced player, and strengthen for national competitions.
Deep Training Class (all levels): Limited to 8 students. 2 hours per class. There is no level requirement for this class. Students in this class receive focused guidance towards becoming a well-rounded player.
Power Up Training: this is a pre-competition training class that aims to provide students with the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge in a previous class, and to aid the student's performance in upcoming tournaments.

Description: Private lessons are offered in a combination of teaching game, reviews, tsumego tutorial, and lecture. The teaching game is highly recommend for the first lesson. Afterwards, a tentative study plan will be designed for the student.
