Every finale needs a great warm-up.
🏆 The New York Institute of Go announced the Prologue Open, an AGA-rated December warm-up that kicks off the 2026 New York Monthly Series & Grand Finals. The 2026 circuit runs January through November, culminating on the second Saturday of December, with Youth (U18) and Adult (18+) tracks.
📅 2026 Dates (first Saturdays unless noted): Jan 10, Feb 7, Mar 7, May 2, Jun 6, Jul 11, Sep 12, Oct 3, Nov 7.
🏆 Players earn placement points (12–9–7–6–5–4–3–2) plus +1 for completing all rounds; each division’s leaderboard totals a player’s Best-5 event scores. The Top-4 in each division qualify for the Grand Finals on the second Saturday of December, with prizes $800+ (scaled by sponsorship). Select finals will be live-broadcast with professional commentary. Monthly prizes are awarded in both circuits.
