NYIG Youth Go Class

Weekly Go class in small groups

The number of students in each class is limited to 10, including both online and on-site. This limit ensures that each student receives targeted learning and required guidance from the instructor. All classes will follow the NYIG official textbooks. Our curriculum offers a structured learning plan from beginner to high dan level.

Path to Pro and Champion Training

  • Champion Training: For students dedicated to winning national Go tournaments. Personalized curriculum designed upon entry and unlimited access to the NYIG Go library. Fees vary.

  • Path to Pro: Dan levels and up. For students with a strong commitment to become professional Go players. Personalized curriculum designed upon entry and unlimited access to the NYIG Go library. Fees vary.

Deep Training and Competition Class

  • Deep Training Class: Limited to 10 students. For students that want to receive additional guidance on practical methods and strategies and accelerate improvement. Recommended: 2 classes per week.

  • Competition Class: Limited to 10 students. Enrolled with one other class. For students that want to accelerate their rate of improvement, become experienced players, and train for national competitions.

***Tuition rates are per session, with 18 sessions per semester. Midterm enrollment requires approval.

**Competition class must be enrolled alongside another class.

Class Materials

The registration fee is $20 for the beginner class, $30 for the novice and intermediate class, and $40 for all other classes. Class materials are included in the registration fee, which is required for all students. Online students will receive an online version of the textbook. A hard copy of the textbook can also be picked up at the NYIG. Additionally, we offer to ship a hard copy of the textbook to you at the shipping fee cost.

 

Discounts - applicable to all regular classes

  • 5% OFF with a full year enrollment at the end of the previous school year.

  • 10% OFF for the second child in the same family.

Fall 2021:

  • First Day of School: September 10, 2021

  • Thanksgiving Break: November 25 - 28, 2021

  • Christmas and New Year Break: December 20, 2020 - January 2, 2021

  • Last Day of School: January 30, 2022

Spring 2022:

  • First Day of School: February 2, 2022

  • Mid-Winner Break: February 21 - 27, 2022

  • Spring Break: April 11 - 24, 2022

  • Last Day of School: June 26, 2022

NYIG Camps:

There are three camps available at NYIG every year. Students not only will spend a fun time with others, but have intense training to accelerate their rate of improvement and prepare for national tournaments. More information about NYIG Camps can be found here: https://www.ny-go.org/camps

Onsite Classes at 25505 Northern Boulevard, Little Neck, NY 11362, USA

On June 2, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that summer day classes after June 29th are permitted. To accommodate everyone, NYIG will offer classes online AND on-site. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, we will limit the total number of students registered in the on-site class to 6-10. During our on-site classes, we will strictly adhere to all health guidelines. If you are participating in on-site classes, please carefully read our health guidelines.

Online Classes on Zoom

In the online classes, please read the setup instructions and have Zoom and KGS downloaded on your computer. Do a couple of tests to make sure that they are both working before your first class. Online Class Setup Instructions
